Our customer asked us to support the acquisition and deployment of an Enterprise wi-fi system for their chain of business locations throughout England and Wales, some of which were grade II listed buildings.
The wi-fi system was to be controlled centrally, have the ability to support multiple SSIDs, and have single sign-on facilities across the entire network. Voice was also to be supported.
SES Computers approached this issue through the acquisition and deployment of a wide area network, utilising equipment from Ubiquiti.
A survey was performed in each location, with a layout map produced for future reference. Extent structured cabling was reused or added to wherever possible. Where necessary, the structured infrastructure was completely hidden within the existing fabric of the building using our specialist installation methods. Surface mounting was used wherever acceptable for reasons of cost.
Ubiquiti Extended Range Access Points and 8,24 and 48 port Ubiquiti switches were deployed to build the network.
The result is a project that we provided as a turn-key solution, taking full responsibility for all aspects of the network administration and security. A public access gateway was also provisioned to provide secure guest access to the internet for non-company users.
